FAQs

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

  • Spora Network is a diaspora-led, community-driven organization built on the belief that sustainable change comes from within and with the support of those who carry ancestral ties to the continent.
Unlike traditional nonprofits, our model blends:

    • Diaspora expertise

    • Local partnerships

    • Data-driven decision-making

    • Long-term community ownership

We don’t drop programs into communities. We co-create them with teachers, local leaders, and families to ensure every initiative is culturally relevant, impactful, and built to last.

  • The diaspora holds powerful resources: lived experience, global networks, funding capacity, and professional skills.

Spora Network mobilizes that collective strength to:

    • Mentor teachers and students

    • Fund schools, digital labs, and scholarships

    • Support curriculum modernization

    • Scale innovative, community-led solutions

For us, this work is personal. The diaspora isn’t just a supporter. It is the backbone of our mission.

  • Spora Network is currently in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Donations made at this time are not yet tax-deductible, but they go directly toward essential early programs, operations, and partnerships needed to launch our work at scale.

We will update all donors once tax-deductible status is approved.

  • Volunteering with Spora Network is easy and deeply impactful.

You can apply through our Volunteer Interest Form, where you’ll share your interests, skills, and availability. Our team will reach out with next steps and match you with opportunities based on your strengths.

No minimum hours are required. We welcome volunteers who want to contribute their time, leadership, creativity, or professional expertise.

  • We use a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) framework to track, analyze, and visualize our impact across all program areas.

    Our metrics include:

    • Student enrollment and gender equity

    • Teacher training and mentorship sessions

    • Digital tools distributed

    • Infrastructure completed

    • Clean water and sanitation installed
